Chest lock with guide
Central Europe, 16th century
Malleable iron. Two-lever locking mechanism riveted to the support plate. Forged tension rods decorated with grooving and carvings, terminating in the centre in a swaged acorn form. Round key case with three wards inside and grooved foliage ornamentation on the surface. Hammered and cut quatrefoil rivet washers.
